guatemala weekend
Storme'n in
I just couldn't justify taking any time away from j to blog so here is the weekend that was... We arrived Friday to our hotel, I had asked for the same room as we had before so at least the environment... is the same for us. j arrived a few hours after we did so we cleaned up and I paced. The day was beautiful and bright, I had just walked outside to continue my pacing when I saw esperanza and her bundle climb out of the car. I was sooo excited I ran up to her and peeked in at the babe then ran back in to let s know they had arrived. It is customary there in Guatemala to wrap babies up in bundles. She always looks soooo big then we get her up to our room to see that she has on 3 layers of clothing. She has gained another pound and a half but is still so small. Fun to see changes, she now smiles on purpose and is a bit more verbal in asking for what she wants or needs. We hadn't heard much from her the last visit. She is still as happy and easy as can be. I had a blast with her in the bath. She is discovering her limbs slowly, she grinned and kicked her legs underwater as I just held on to her head and her back for support. Such a joy to watch her figuring things out. She studied my face over and over, I think I got some good pics of her doing it with S. I woke up one evening to see her just looking at me with those huge brown eyes. She looked up down and all around just quietly there in the dark solving the problems of the world I imagined. She saw me watching her, she continued with her contemplating and taking me in as well. I could watch her forever and she seemed to be happy watching us doing a lot about nothing.
I absolutely cannot wait to have her in the US, I am thankful more and more for where I was born and all the things I have easy access to. all the 'firsts' is what i really cannot wait to do, her first night home, our first family get together, her first visit to the pool, just meeting all our friends and family... what a treat!
we thank you each time you come and share with us, we appreciate all the support, love and friendships!
